A Mississauga man is facing multiple charges after being stopped on Highway 69 in Carling Township.

On Tuesday morning, police spotted a vehicle travelling southbound at around 10:30 am near Britt-Byng Inlet. Earlier, the OPP says the suspect car had failed to stop for Sudbury police on Highway 17 West. Using a spike-strip, West Parry Sound OPP were able to stop the crippled car at the Highway 559 exit.

The driver, 28-year-old Martelle Francis was charged with flight while pursued by a peace officer, dangerous driving, and fail to comply with recognizance. He is currently being held in custody.

A 23-year-old Oshawa woman who was a passenger in the car was also arrested at the scene.

Amber Beaming is facing a possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking charge after being released with a Promise to  Appear on November 15th.

Both driver and passenger will have their cases heard in Parry Sound court.
