Voting officially begins in Parry Sound on Tuesday but if you’re looking for a ballot box, you’re out of luck.
As of 10:00 am Tuesday morning, you can cast a vote for your favourite candidate but only by telephone or online. The Town of Parry Sound is using an electronic-only ballot system instead of traditional paper ballots.
You first have to make sure you’re on the voters’ list. If you haven’t received your Voter Information Letter already, you can check the voters’ list at the Library, Fire Station, or the Municipal Office.
If you’re not on the list or need to make a correction, the Help Desk at the Municipal Office can assist you to get things right so you can obtain your PIN number, something you need in order to vote. You can reach them by phone at 705-746-2101 or online at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The voting period is between 10:00 am Tuesday, October 9th and October 22nd at 8:00 pm, 24-hours a day seven days a week. If you’re unable to access a phone or a computer, you can vote at the Municipal Office at 52 Seguin St. or Georgian Bay Software at 42 Gibson St. during business hours.
If you need more information on how to vote electronically be sure to watch this Voter Demonstration video on YouTube.
Also on the ballot for eligible voters in Parry Sound is the question on whether you want the town’s drinking water fluoridated.
