A Parry Sound man is facing weapons and theft charges after a warrant was carried out in Parry Sound.

Last Friday, police found a rifle, a shotgun, tools, boots, and electronics among other items they say were obtained from a string of car break-ins in Parry Sound.

West Parry Sound OPP arrested and charged 34-year-old Avery Nickerson with breaking and entering a vehicle to steal a firearm, possession of a firearm and ammunition contrary to his probation, weapons and ammunition trafficking, failing to comply with a probation order, and theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle.

A second Parry Sound man was also arrested at the scene.

Police charged 34-year-old  Rosswell Tabobondung with unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm obtained by crime, failing to comply with a probation order, and trafficking cocaine.

Both men are currently in custody and will appear in Parry Sound court.

Police remind to lock your car, never keep valuables in plain view, and keep your licence and vehicle registration with you instead of leaving them in the car.
