West Parry Sound OPP is out in full force to kick-off this season’s Festive R.I.D.E. program.

Since the campaign began November 23rd, police have clocked 38 hours of spot checks on the region’s roads and highways to deter people from driving while impaired by both drugs and alcohol.

During that period, the OPP has issued two 3-day suspensions from roadside tests.

As well, three Schedule I substance charges were also laid.

In traffic-related charges, police issued:

  • three seatbelt charges
  • three driving while suspended charges
  • two driving while disqualified charges
  • one Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act charge

This year’s Festive R.I.D.E. program runs until January 2nd, 2019.
