Environment Canada is forecasting messy weather for Friday in the Parry Sound region.
The weather agency says the area could be hit with rain mixed with ice pellets.
Temperatures are expected to drop to zero by the noontime creating the possibility of freezing rain.
The freezing rain and snow will continue into the evening leaving about 2 cm on the ground.
Temperatures will drop to minus eight degrees overnight feeling like minus 17 with the windchill.
Police are advising that motorists take extra care when driving on area roads and highways.
