A search warrant executed by a coalition of Ontario law enforcement has put an illegal cannabis storefront in Henvey Inlet First Nation out of business.

On Friday, members of the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team of the OPP along with the North East Region Community Street Crimes Unit, and the West Parry Sound OPP Detachment, raided the illegal business on Bekanon Road.

Police seized suspected cannabis bud, shatter, and edibles worth an estimated $157,230.

Police also seized $3,250 of Canadian cash.

Charged with possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling is 20-year-old Jessie McAvoy of Valley East, Ontario.

Also charged is 39-year-old Neil Herbert of Sudbury, Ontario with allowing his property to be used for unlawful sale or distribution of cannabis.

Both were released with an Appearance Notice and are scheduled to appear in Parry Sound court on February 28, 2019.
