The Performance Hall at the Stockey Centre was a busy place Thursday morning.

Businesses, community groups, municipalities, and politicians were all represented as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Finance Doug Downey and Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller hosted a Budget Consultation in Parry Sound for the upcoming 2019 Budget.

Each invited participant was given three minutes in which they could voice their concerns, areas where they envision improvement and overall input in what they would like to see included in the upcoming budget.

Both Downey and Miller said concerns were varied and really didn’t seem to focus on a single issue although red tape and responsible spending by the government were some common threads.

For those who couldn’t make the meeting, submissions were made by mail, telephone, and email.

The opportunity continues for anyone who wants to send in their ideas regarding the 2019 budget.
