Lawyers for the crown and the defence will be back in Parry Sound court Thursday morning as preparations are underway for Mark St. Amant’s preliminary hearing.

As well, Mark St. Amant himself is scheduled to be in the courtroom as his case is spoken to.

It will be just the second time St. Amant of Britt-Byng will be the courtroom as he faces a 2nd-degree murder charge in the death of Amanda McClaskin, also of Britt-Byng Inlet, in August 2018.

St. Amant is also facing an indignity to a dead body charge and two counts of breaching his probation.

This will the ninth time his murder and indignity charges will be spoken to in court and the eighth time for his probation charges.

When St. Amant hasn’t been in the courtroom, he has faced a judge via video feed.

A preliminary hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 2019.

As yet no plea has been entered.

St. Amant’s case will be spoken to in Parry Sound count on Thursday, January 17th at 9:00 am.
