A Reduced Impaired Drivers Everywhere spot check has netted the West Parry Sound OPP their fifth impaired driving arrest for 2019.
Police say that while conducting R.I.D.E. on Parry Sound Road in Parry Sound on Tuesday afternoon, a car approached the spot check at about 3:00 pm.
After speaking with the driver, the OPP officer determined the 51-year-old man had consumed cannabis.
Charged with impaired driving by alcohol/drugs and driving with cannabis readily available is Craig Williams of Moose Deer Point First Nation.
His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the car he was driving impounded for seven days.
Williams was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in Parry Sound court on February 21st.
