A driver charged with stunt driving may be lucky the result wasn’t worse.

West Parry Sound OPP says it spotted a car Wednesday night travelling northbound on Highway 69 in Carling they suspected was speeding.

Police clocked the car going over 50km/h over the posted speed limit and pulled it over.

Charged with racing a motor vehicle with excessive speed is 32-year-old David Laking of Sudbury.

It’s the third vehicle stopped by the West Parry Sound detachment for stunt driving in 2019.

Laking was also charged with not surrendering his insurance card which could mean he may have been stunt driving without having insurance on his car.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and the car he was driving impounded for seven days.

He scheduled to be in Parry Sound court on February 26th.
