UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended a Freezing Drizzle Advisory for the Parry Sound Region.

Environment Canada has issued a ‘Freezing Drizzle Advisory’ for the Parry Sound area including the Town of Parry Sound, Rosseau, Carling, and Killlbear Park.

The agency is advising that periods of freezing drizzle are expected to affect the region through Wednesday night and into Thursday.

There is the potential for a brief period of freezing rain Thursday afternoon before temperatures rise above zero and the precipitation changes to rain or drizzle.

Challenging winter travelling conditions are expected today through Thursday due to the prolonged period of icing.

Highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care if you are walking or driving in the affected areas.

Environment Canada issues ‘Freezing Drizzle Advisories’ when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.
