A Chigeeng First Nation woman is facing alcohol-related charges after being suspected of drunk driving.

West Parry Sound OPP says it noticed the woman in her car on James Street in Parry Sound at around 2:30 am early Saturday morning and after speaking with her, determined she had been drinking.

Arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired with over 80mg blood/alcohol and care and control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor is 27-year-old Carissa Debassige.

The vehicle she was driving was impounded for seven days.

She was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled for Parry Sound court Feb 21, 2019.
