The Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network’s Impact Awards are quickly approaching and a newly created category can help local organizations access federal funding.
By applying for the new Innovation Award for Social Enterprise by midnight Friday, March 1, 2019, charitable, non-profit or social-purpose organizations in Parry Sound-Muskoka can secure the recognition as a launch pad to accessing some of the $755 million to be provided by the Federal Government as part of its newly announced Social Finance Fund.
“We’re working hard to help spread the understanding and importance for organizations – both businesses and nonprofits – to focus on innovation which is a very different way of thinking to ensure their future survival in this rapidly changing economy.” Stuart Morley, Executive Director, Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network.
This new innovation award for $1,000 plus a professionally prepared video and tickets to the IMPACT Awards on April 11, 2019 at the JW Marriott in Minett, is one of seven awards of $1,000 being offered by Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network.
The other new award is for innovation in a small community (population less than 2,500 people) in Parry Sound-Muskoka.
All it takes to apply for the Innovation Awards is to visit the website and in one page (750 words) or less, describe your project, and why you think it should win the award in the category you’ve selected and submit it by midnight Friday, March 1, 2019
As well, you can record a video of 2 minutes or less, post it on YouTube or another video sharing service, and send PMCN the link by the March 1st deadline.
You can see last year’s videos at the PMCN awards website.
The Muskoka Founders Circle will be offering two awards this year and they also have a March 1, 2019 deadline to apply.
