Work is now underway on the Ice Surface Rehabilitation Project at the Bobby Orr Community Centre.
Delayed for a year to ensure a quality build, work crews are preparing to excavate the concrete slabs that are the foundation of the rink.
In a rarity, the approximately $536 thousand project came in $90,000 below its budgeted cost.
Managing the project is Quinin Construction Ltd., an experienced contractor that recently oversaw similar rinks rehabs in Mactier and Dysart completed on budget and on time.
Completion of the rink is scheduled for the end of August, in time for the fall hocket=y season.
