New stats from the Labour Market Group are not good news for job seekers in the Parry Sound District.

Numbers show there were 19 fewer job postings in February than in January.

A total of 128 job postings were recorded in January whereas, in February, there were 109 job postings recorded, a drop of 14.8 percent.

The Labour Market Group reports the 2019 February figures are nearly identical to the four-year average of 107.6 job postings, a rise of 2.3 percent.

There were 60 unique employers posting jobs in the Parry District in February 2019, a 5.3 percent increase over the four-year February average of 57.

The Top Five industries hiring in February were:

  1. 19.3% of all job postings: Public Administration
  2. 17.4%: Transportation and Warehousing
  3. 14.7%: Retail Trade
  4. 13.8%: Health Care and Social Assistance
  5. 8.3%: Manufacturing
