It’s all but official.
At its nomination meeting slated for Wednesday, May 8th, the Parry Sound-Muskoka Federal Liberal Association will acclaim Trisha Cowie as its nominee for the upcoming federal election this fall.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Association President John Duck announced that Cowie was the only qualified nomination contestant to have completed the nomination process.
For the designate-nominee, knocking on doors and getting close to people is first on the priority list as she prepares for the October 21st election.
Cowie was the Parry Sound-Muskoka riding’s Liberal candidate in the 2015 federal election, coming in a close second to Tony Clement with 39 percent of the vote.
When asked about how she plans to celebrate her nomination, Cowie said, “As usual, I celebrate with family where there’s always lots of good laughs”.
As yet, no time or location of the nomination meeting has been announced.
