UPDATE 3 Wednesday, May 1st, 8:30 pm: Rainfall Warning ENDED
UPDATE 2 Wednesday, May 1st: Rainfall Warning remains in effect. Up to 10mm of rain forecast for the region.
UPDATE Tuesday, April 30th: Melting snow and ice pellets are in the forecast as Environment Canada has upgraded its Special weather statement to a Rain Warning for the area.
Some areas will begin as snow or ice pellets Tuesday night before changing to rain Wednesday morning.
Local snow and ice pellet amounts of 2 cm are possible.
Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 35 mm are possible by Thursday morning.
Environment Canada has issued a Special weather statement for the Parry Sound area advising the region could be hit with between 20mm and 35mm of rain by Thursday morning.
Rain is expected to return to the region beginning early Wednesday morning and ending early Thursday morning.
The agency reminds residents that an MNRF FLOOD WARNING remains in effect for the Parry Sound District until Friday, May 3rd.
From Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry: FLOOD WARNING – flooding is imminent or occurring within specific watercourses and municipalities.
This rainfall is associated with a Texas Low that will track across Southern Ontario Wednesday and Wednesday night.
